Balls by the seaside

Quaysides are one of my favourite places and I am fascinated by all the strong shapes and colours.

The contrast between these solid manmade objects when set against the natural beauty of sea, sand and sky always draws me to take photos.

In Aberdyfi these huge buoys caught my eye, I’ve no idea what they are used for but compositionally I love the way they create big expanses of negative space.

My personal tendency is to fill space; with stuff, pattern and words so I appreciate how these buoys have the natural ability to create solid and comfortable space.
